Running dictation. Computer vocab, nouns and verbs
The activity takes students through the basic function Internet Explorer, Paint, Word and PowerPoint as well as basic skills as saving to the desk top and maximising and minimising.
I’ve conducted this activity with many classes of many levels, what will need customising is the amount of pre-teaching of the vocab. It can work as a diagnostic task, or a fun end of class activity.
This is similar to a running dictation that one may run in an English class. Print out two or three copies of the sheet below and stick them around the room. Students work in pairs, one student uses the computer the other is the walker. The walker’s job to go to one of the sheets on the wall and remember as many instructions as they can accurately, then pass the instructions onto their partner who performs them.
The final product should be a short PowerPoint with two slides of two different famous people. Each slide should have the famous person’s name written with the paint brush from the program paint. Each slide should also have two sentences, one explaining why this person is famous and one explaining why they like this person
