Cool Runnings: Passive Voice
This reading activity was_designed for students to complete after watching the Disney movie "Cool Runnings." Information about the movie, along with trivia about Jamaica, Australia´s Winter Olympic history, and the Sochi 2014 Games is_written entirely in the passive voice. Exercises to assist students in identifying the verb "to be" and the past-participle (to create the passive voice in different tenses) are_included on the second page.
An answer sheet is_included on pages 3 and 4.
Notice also that all instructions on the second page are imperatives. Have your students identify these verbs to highlight that passive sentences never start with a verb.
