AMISTAD: work on the film trailer
Here is a worksheet (+ key) to give your students while watching th e Amistad trailer. Divide the class into 2 groups, get each group in turn to listen to the trailer without the images while the others are watching: those who only listended for the noises have to make speculations as to how slaves were treated (speculations that have to be confirmed by the rest of the class who has been watching the pictures). Students love it every year and it makes the passive voice go down very easily.
