Detectives
This is a fun speaking exercise designed for groups of around eight students (students can work in pairs if there are more). First, cut out the different names, cities, pets and hobbies. Take one of each and put in an envelope. Students have a copy of the sheet and take one of the remaining names, cities, pets and hobbies. Students must ask each other questions (discreetly) to eliminate "suspects" and find out the identity of the character in the envelope. Students must only ask one question at a time before moving onto the next interviewee. This exercise is ideal for students working on asking questions and simple presentations.
