Comparing Past simple and Past Continuous using nursery rhymes worksheet
Comparing Past simple and Past Continuous using nursery rhymes
Compare the past continuous and past simple by cutting up the house that Jack built and having them reconstruct it by reading at the moment vocabulary should be ignored. After reconstructing the House that jack built show them that each action starts and finishes in a particular order that can be seen due to the fact that it is all done in the past simple. Compare to the other set of nursery rhymes which are all in the past continuous have them make past continuous time lines to see how the past continuous works. they should by the end have a grasp as to the differences past and simple continuous. As Home work you can have them calculate how many people were going to saint Ives :-)
