| | Work sheet "Like a Hobo" by Charlie Winston
This is a "listen and fill in the gaps" exercise based on Charlie Winston´s song "Like a Hobo". The students will have to write down the missing words on the sheet.
After they´ve filled in the whole song, I ask them what the difference is between the words they had to guess in the first two verses and the rest of the song and what helped them guess those words in both cases. (i.e. Meaning/stressed words in the first two verses and mostly unstressed/grammatical words in the rest of the song. They can also note that they did not actually need to hear the words in the second part of the song, they could just have guessed them, because their presence is logical.)
