Verb Cards
Just glue these onto card, or make a double sided copy and cut them out and youīre hot to trot!
*It shows up funny on the preview but itīs in a normal grid and all lined up. I also made backs of the cards so they canīt read the verb through them....i learnt that the hard way of course.
I wrote down how I used it just in case you were interested..
Write on the board: Are you going to ~ ?
Students are given 3 verb cards each and they ask each other the above question, substituting verbs at the end. If the answer is Yes, I am, then the student who answered yes has to give their card to the other student who asked. If the answer is No, Im not, then they move on.
Once they run out of cards, they can get 1 or 2 more from you, but if you run out then they have to sit down. The person with the most cards at the end gets a prize.
It is good to write up the verbs before you start this game and i just played pictionary with the class in 2 teams. They had to guess what i was drawing (ie soccer ball/soccer) and then you write play soccer, watch TV etc.
after this are you going to ~ activity I did the what are you going to do on (day) (time of day) battleship activity (Battleship be + going to, here: http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=67706#thetop)
Hope it helps someone out there in the wide world of teaching!
