Saint Patricks Day History & Vocab
First, lead a discussion with your students about St. Patrick´s day celebrations nowadays, this could be done with pictures of festivities around the English speaking world. Then let them read the text and ask them some comprehension questions. Next, give them the first worksheet and see how many of the words they are able to guess the meaning for from context. They can do this in pairs or groups. Finally, stick the definitions cards around the room and have them walk around with their group and work out which ones they had been able to guess correctly, and what the right answers are for the ones they didn´t know, or were wrong about.
