A word association story
Cut out the words and group your class. Each group gets a set of words and has to make up story consisting of these words.
Variation: put the cut out words into an envelope. Devide your class into three or four teams. Draw three words form the envelope and write them on the board. The first team has to start a story and try to use all the words given. If they use only one word, they will get one point, if two words, two points, up to three points. They can talk until they use a word. If they are finished, they will call out "PASS!" and next team continues the story with new words. The team to have most points wins. The important thing is not to write the story but keep talking as much as possible.
