Who Are You and What Do You Know? #1 - Death at the Circus
I had been searching for a long time for some simple to set up yet challenging "Whodunit"-type conversation puzzles, and finally came up with an idea of how to do them myself, by basing them on lateral-thinking problems. Theyīve been really popular with my teenage conversation classes. This, Death at the Circus, is the first in a series. There are 13 character cards, one for each student (you can print out doubles for bigger classes).
Start the class off with the introduction: "A woman died at the circus. How did she die? Did someone kill her? Find out what happened and why."
By talking to everyone, the students may be able to put the puzzle together. However, some of the cards are red-herrings, intended to deliberately set the students on the wrong course.
