Who Are You and What Do You Know? #2 - Death on a Train
This is the second in my series of "Whodunit?" conversation games, based on lateral-thinking puzzles. In this one, there are 14 character cards (two sets are here in case you have more students- the second set is written in italics), and the students have to ask each other "Who are you?" and "What do you know?" in order to find out how Mr. Grim died.
Start off by saying to the students, "Mr. Grim has died. He was traveling in the first-class carriage of a train traveling from London to his home deep in the Scottish Highlands. How did he die? Did someone kill him? If so, who? And why?"
The students need to talk to everyone in order to figure out what
happened. Some of the clues are red herrings designed to deliberately set them on the wrong course. When the students start to catch on to some clues, guide them in the right direction. For example, what does the trainīs dangerous route through mountains and tunnels have to do with the lights not working in the toilet? (EVERYTHING!)
