Video leson - God Grew Tired of Us
I like to use this worksheet with more mature students to get them thinking about how lucky they are. The topic is quite heavy but most classes I have shown the clips to have enjoyed the video.
I generally only show the first 13 minutes (up to "A new chapter of survival was beginning.."), enough to complete the worksheet and give them the background information.
The next part, from round 22-33 minutes onwards shows the Lost Boys preparing to travel to the USA, flying, moving into their new house and shopping. Before this part I put students into groups to brainstorm what things will be strange, difficult and exciting for the boys.
