Have You Ever...? (Find Someone Who...)
This is an activity that will allow students to practice the Present Perfect tense orally. Each student is given a copy of the chart. On the left hand side, there is a list of actions such as "fall in love at first sight" or "talk to somebody famous". Students have to find people in the classroom who have had those experiences in the past, by asking the question "Have you ever...?". With lower level students, you might want to go through the vocabulary first, and even ellicit the questions that they will be asking their classmates. (You could even write them on the blackboard.)Allow students a few minutes to walk around the classroom asking questions and completing the chart with the names of the people who have done these things in the past. Then, ask the students to return to their seats and comment on their findings. You can ask general questions such as "Who in the classroom has fallen in love at first sight?" or even ask the group for information about a particular student (e.g. "What do information do we have about Maria").
