Clue Conversational Role Play Part 1 of 4
Part 1: INTRODUCTION, INSTRUCTIONS, CARDS: Dinner, Weapon, Room.
(sorry but the upload limit caused issues with the best part of this lesson plan: the character cards. So there are 4 parts 1 for all the information and 3 for the cards.)
This is a conversation game based on the board game and movie Clue or Cluedo. It is a mystery that the students have to use English conversations to solve.
It is designed for up to 24 students but can be adapted for more or less easily. The entire game takes between 60-90 minutes depending on how much pre-teaching you do and how advanced the students are. It is a great tool for teaching job vocabulary, describing people, or practicing conversation.
Included in this part of the guide are Room Clue Cards (which reveal where the murder takes place), Weapon Clue Cards (which reveal what is used to commit the crime), and Dinner Clue Cards (which reveal the killer). Each card will be given to the players in stages. There is also a detective sheet. This will be used to gather information from other players and to eliminate possibilities until there is only one person, weapon, and room left.
