Guests - Use of Modals
I use this to check for understanding after the modals have been introduced. If the group is small, 4-6 students,after each student has filled out his sheet, I have each read his list and I put them on the board.
I change the examples according to the age group. For my adult students, I use "my wife, my husband etc.
Itīs great because each student has different household rules so what is a "donīt have to" for one might be a "mustnīt" for another. I find that this individual use of these modals really helps them understand the use and difference. It is also creates the scene for conversation because as one student is giving his rules, others agree or disagree, make comments etc.
