The fortune line helps children chart the emotions experienced by a character in a story. They first draw or write short phrases in the boxes at the top to indicate different events in a story. They then colour in the level of happiness/unhappiness for each event. Finally, they determine which of the emotion words best describes how the character was feeling at that point in the story.
