This adapted and shortened Time Magazine article describes the appaling conditions in Ghanaīs e-waste dumps. I used it as a reading test with my 11th graders in Portugal. Developing countries are shipping their electronic waste to Third World Countries and causing a huge environmental disaster. It makes a clear reference to the irresponsibility of our consumer society. There is also a lot of film material on this issue available online (watch the documentary "The lightbulb conspiracy").
