Heart Transplant Discussion
This is a great discussion activity. First, brainstorm different diseases and talk about whether they are curable or not. Then into heart disease and talk about the difficulties of finding transplant hearts for all those who need them. Divide the class into groups of three and tell them they are a "Hospital Committe" and they must decide from these people who should get the heart. There is only one heart, so they must choose one person to recieve it and give reasons why that person should get it and why the others shouldn´t. This is a good chance to get them talking and defending their strong opinions.
