Avicii: Reading Comprehension and Exercise with his song Wake me Up
This article about Avicii, the famous DJ, gave me the chance to work on reading comprehension with my intermediate students who are 14-15 years old. They really enjoyed learning about him, since he´s really popular at the moment. There are three reading comp. exercises. Then I used the page www.transl8it.com to translate the first verse of his song Wake me Up into Lingo English, which is the kind of English young people use when they text. My students had to translate that verse into proper English. After that, we listened to the whole song and they had to complete the lyrics of the song. The complete lyrics and the fill in the blanks exercise is also here. You will need to get the music, though. Hope you like it!
