Here´s the official Penguin description:
Kim is running through the streets of the old town. She is frightened. A man with dark eyes and a knife is looking for her. He is going to catch her. This holiday in beautiful Barcelona is suddenly very dangerous. Where is Kim’s friend Dave? What can she do?
This exercise has more than 100 questions.
Suggestion: Assign students to read this before class.
During class, divide the students into pairs. Each person has 5 minutes to retell the story in the 3rd person. Next, each member of the pair is Kim and retells the story as Kim for 5 minutes. Next, each member of the pair is Dave and retells the story as Dave.
Depending on how much time you have, you may also ask students to write answers to the questions.
You can also use the questions as dictation practice.
This has worked very well for me in a class of young adults, especially the speaking and listening parts, and the dictation practice.
