Countable/Uncountable Nouns
I designed this worksheet to give my students some practice making requests using want/would like/have, using countable + uncountable nouns and quantifiers.
I used the theme of ordering a sandwich at Subway as is this is not only true to real life but it also appeals to the students. I designed this activity to be used as a speaking excersize for students to practice in pairs, having run through the process with the group as a whole.
The role play/ conversation can be fully elicited from the students before they practice the target lanuguage. One student acts as the sandwich maker- who asks leading questions. and the other student acts as the customer, practicing the target language eg. I would a ham sandwich on white bread, with some salad but not much onion and a little bit of mayonnaise.
Its possible to print an actual Subway menu specific to your country or local Subway store, so students can choose what they want to order before they begin the speaking excersize. Students can also have a good look through the vocab to familiarize themselves with a selection sandwich fillings and sauces and decide what they like/dislike most.
