irregular verb checkers
As in standard checkers each side moves a playing piece diagonally. After selecting a square, the player tosses the coin (or a dice). If the coin lands “heads” (a dice – even number) a person says Past Simple form of the irregular verb (or make a sentence, or ask a question, depends on what you want to practice), if it lands ‘tails” (a dice – odd number) a person says Past Participle (or make a sentence or a question with selected irregular verb). If the player is correct, he/she moves the playing piece, it he/she is wrong, they return to the square they moved from. A player can also jump a playing piece of the opponent by jumping and then saying the correct forms (or sentences) of both verbs, if both forms are correct, a player can remove the opponent’s playing piece. The game continues in turn, until all the pieces for one side have reached the other end of the board. The side with the most playing pieces remaining is the winner. Enjoy!
