Round the world speaking activity for conversation class
I briefly discussed this topic and the handout with my Thai students who are mixed ability students aged 14-16. I teach them every Saturday morning for just one hour and they are a small group of 5 students.
I gave them the handout one week prior to the activity in order to give them time to prepare what they would like to say the following Saturday.
The activity was mostly successful. All 5 students participated and did their best to present their ideas. Obviously the level of fluency varied according to their individual level, but I did allow a weaker student to make use of more extensive notes in order to boost her confidence.
Unfortunately I was unable to attach the accompanying handout which was landscape rather than portrait in its layout. That handout was simply a world map on which the students had to mark the cities they intended to fly to and then draw lines to connect those cities to create their round the world route.
The original file contained AR CENA and GAME OF THRONES fonts, although I expect this will look different on eslprintables.
Feel free to edit the handout to suit your own needs. I hope it might be useful to someone, or inspire someone to come up with a better idea than mine.
Best regards,
Scott
