Attendence Game
Each student has a card in which his/her name is written.
In the morning, all the name cards are kept in “I am NOT at school” box.
As a student enters the class, s/he has to pick up his/her card from the box and drop it into “I am at school” box.
When all students are in class, I will take any remaining card from the “I am NOT in school” box and ask students to read out the name and discuss why that card is still in the box.
At the end of the day, all students remove their card from the “I am at school” box and drop it in “I am NOT in school” box.
At the initial stages of this activity, I help students recognize their respective cards by keeping them on the floor and showing their card to them.
The name of each child is called out. The child’s name which has been called out has to come, recognize his name and pick out the card & give it to the teacher. This is carried out for a few days until all children know their names.
