Christmas Listening - "Do They Know Itīs Christmas?" - Band Aid 30 (2014)
A reasonably varied listening activity worksheet for the 2014 version of the Band Aid song "Do They Know Itīs Christmas?". Includes gap-filling, choosing correct order, choosing between potential lyrics and correcting errors. Also includes an answer key and a link to the official music video on YouTube; a quick search turns up several videos with lyrics too, for the purposes of correction.
The song is ebola-themed this year, so not exactly as jolly as more traditional Christmas songs, but could go well in a lesson themed around charity and could potentially be used as preparation for discussion on fudnraising vs. direct action and so on, since thereīs a debate among critics around whether Band Aid is a force for good or an exercise in first-world smugness.
