Present Simple Sentences With To Be
I printed these and cut them out, then put each sentence in a separate envelope. The students raced against each other (in small teams, ideally) to create a grammatically correct positive sentence, negative sentence, or yes/no question.
We´re working with my students on putting "a" when you have a singular noun and "s" (but NOT a) with a plural noun, simple adjective placement, and when you use plural/singular nouns (for example, "we are people" instead of "we are a person").
I also like doing this because I can use (simple) words that they haven´t necessarily seen before - child/ren, person/people, nice, etc. - without overloading them with lists of vocabulary. That´s the goal!
