Acting out a song (vocabulary; body movements)
Aims: Students have to listen carefully to the song to act out instructions.
Level(s): All
Language focus: Vocabulary (body movements: move to right, move to the left, put your left hand up etc.)
Time: approximately 15 minutes depending on how many songs you are willing to play and how many times the group wants to play the game
Preparation: Make sure that the pupils are already at a level that they can understand the words mentioned in the song. If they are not familiar with the vocabulary used in the song deal with it beforehand and ask them to study the words as homework.
Procedure:
1. Depending on the amount of pupils in a classroom you divide the class into groups. There has to be a minimum of eight pupils in one group. Name the groups 1,2,3 and four (or any other name).
2. When you divided the group into different groups, select one pupil from each group to be ‘’the observer’’.
3. The observer is the one who is going to eliminate pupils who aren’t making the correct body movements.
4. The group that has the most pupils left is the winner.
