Reading comprehension: British gun policy
Reading comprehension + exercises on gun control and gun ownership in Britain.
- Exercise 1 is a vocabulary training exercise. Based on context, students have to figure out the meaning of 14 English words that are used in the text. (ca. 7 min.)
- Exercise 2 digs a little deeper: students have to search the text for two particular reasons why British policemen don’t carry guns. (ca. 5 min.)
- To finish off this reading task, the teacher asks about the student’s opinion on this issue. Do they think it is wise for policemen not to carry a gun?
