Adverbs of frequency
I prepared this game for my pre-intermediate students. We are working with a coursebook SpeakOut Pre-Intermediate. Love this course. There are two variants of this game. It’s like a sea battle game. With weaker classes you can just use positive sentences with adverbs of frequency:
A motorbike courier rarely breaks traffic laws. The other team should say Miss – if there aren’t any ships. Hit – if there is a part of the ship. Hit and sunk – if all the parts of the ship are hit.
When your students are better at the position of adverbs in the sentence you can ask them to make questions:
Does a motorbike courier rarely break traffic laws? The other team should answer Yes, he does/No, he doesn’t and add miss, hit, hit and sunk.
The most important aim is to practice the position of adverbs of frequency and adverbial phrases and –s endings
