Do you have any pet?
To help children learn domestic animals names.
- You can prep teach the words by cutting out and colouring the pictures to use a flashcards. If you cut and colour two of each it would make for a good matching/memory game at the end of class.
- Have the learner match the animal name to its picture. Then reinforce language by asking: do you have any pets?
Additionally, ask them: Do you have a ...(insert pet name here)...? So they can listen and answer yes or no + the full sentence.
Ex. Q: Do you have a fish? A: No, I donīt have any fish.
Q: Do you have a dog? A: Yes, I have two dogs.
There are supporting games like the match/memory I mentioned above. Or you can always play: "What animal am I?" in which one player acts like an animals and the others identify the animal.
Finally this page provides a colouring activity which can be homework or calm down time.
Have Fun.
