Agreement and Disagreement Cards Agreement and Disagreement Cards

Print the card, double-sided, and laminate. Introduce the vocabulary.(use the final 2 pages to help) Set the scene for the debate. Hand out the cards so that the students have at least 2 agreeing cards and 2 disagreeing cards. If they have low levels, then give them at least 1 opinion card each. Once the debate starts they must throw down their cards when agreeing or disagreeing with the others but they should follow up by saying something to justify using the expression, (e.g. Never in a million years! … that just wouldn’t be fair.). Set a time limit for the debate and students that get rid of all their cards receive an extra vote when it comes time to take a decision on the argument. The last two pages cover how to correctly use the expressions.
