Trail of Kitchen Items
This is a way for students to recap kitchen vocabulary. Cut out each of the 12 posters (a poster is one of the boxes that contains a word and a picture below it) and stick each poster RANDOMLY around the room. Give students an answer sheet each (last page).
Then students must:
1. Go to any of the pictures stuck around the room and start their answer sheet by writing the word above the picture in a box.
2. Underneath the word will be a different kitchen utensil. In the next box along (clockwise) of the answer sheet, the students must write the name of the utensil shown in the picture.
3. They then find the poster that has this word on it. Below is the next utensil they have to write down.
4. Continue until the 12 boxes are complete.
Note: Even if students can´t remember the name of a utensil, they can look at the pictures stuck around the room and try to find the name. It also doesn´t matter which picture they start at, as it will come full circle.
Make sure to help them through this task - some will find it confusing. Once you´ve done this activity once, you can use the format for any vocabulary and the students will understand the routine. They enjoy it because they are active, walking around the room and working independently.
