Welcome to
ESL Printables,
the website where English Language teachers exchange resources:
worksheets, lesson plans, activities, etc.
Our collection is growing every day with the help of many teachers. If
you want to download you have to send your own contributions.
It´s great for a lesson. Start off by review numbers 1-20 and then in increments of 5 all the way to 60 (60 is o´clock!!).
The difference between a clock and watch.
The long hand and short hand (if you want to introduce the words hours and minutes and explain how many are in a day/ hour/ etc.)
Remind children that a clock has 12 hours but a day has 24 so the AM / PM concept and there are some questions to make sure they know the difference.
Then start by just doing simple o´clock exercises.
Afterwards they can start doing hours and minutes (basically 2 digit reading)
There is a cutout clock with hour minute hands to practice more and it really gives a hands-on feature for a class.
[note: hours and minutes are right on that time and not slightly ahead like on a real clock for simplicity but probably a good idea to mention once they get the hang of it]
Hope you enjoy and don´t forget to like!!! :)
