Ms. Lowery, the author of The Giver, was very careful in the first ten chapters of the book. She had to describe everything without the use of colors. It was carefully done and done so well that we never noticed until later that she didn’t mention any colors other than black, white, and gray. This worksheet explores descriptive words and how alternate words can affect one´s perception of an item.
