Symbols of Halloween
Symbols of Halloween activity can be used for conversational practice after reading about Halloween or watching a video. The activity sheet is cut out horizontally. Each card contains two parts separated with a vertical dashed line: the picture card and the question/answer card. S1 shows the picture card to the partner and asks the question written on the question/answer card. Possible answers are provided though SS can add more. S2 answers the question. Then they take another card and continue talking about Halloween. One set of cards can be used for a group of 3-5 students. If there are 7 students, each one is given a card. S1 shows the picture part of his card to S2 and asks his question. They talk about this symbol. S2 does the same with his card for S1. They swap the cards then and find new partners to continue till they discuss all the symbols. It’s important to swap the card each time before finding a new partner.
