Simple Present Vs Present Progressive
This is an activity that I did with adult beginners. It starts with a text that uses both Simple Present and Present Progressive text to put them in context. Then, it reviews the grammar of each tense. Afterwards, the students must do a fill-in-the-blanks activity with the correct verb tense. Some key words are bolded to help them, but depending on your learners, you may wish to guide them through it. I then corrected the text and ask them why that tense is the correct one and gave them the answer if they didn´t know why.
