Immigration - Video activities
The general topic of the lesson is "regional identities" and aims at finding out what makes up a personīs regional identity, their country and citizenship with special emphasis on America.
The students have to watch a speech by US president Obama about immigration and then answer questions. The questions can be answered in writing, or in group discussions.
There is an extra activity, where students have to watch a more complicated, fast spoken video about immigration myths that also offers facts to "bust" these myths. The students are asked to first write down the three myths presented in the video and then give the reasons (facts) as to why these myths are not true.
