Choosing Clothes - what shall I wear to ...
This is a creative and versatile worksheet to encourage students to revise vocabulary for clothes and, should you wish, sentence structure.
Revise vocabulary for items of clothing, accessories and colours. Encourage students to describe what they and others in the class are wearing.
Ask open questions and encourage full sentence answers:
What colour is your hair? My hair is brown/I have brown hair.
Model extending sentences with adjectives: I have long brown hair.
Ask closed questions and encourage students to give you correct descriptions following their answer:
Are you wearing a hat? No. I am not wearing a hat.
Are you wearing a red scarf? No. I am wearing a grey scarf.
Discus suitable clothing for each of the places on the worksheet - school, work, the park, the gym. Ask students to draw their face on the outline in the centre of the page then draw items of clothing that they would choose to wear to each place. Encourage them to label each of the items. To extend the activity, ask them to write a description of their chosen items using the sentence structures rehearsed.
