HIGH INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED SALON - SPEED DEBATING
This is a very versatile format. There are a few dozen debate topics. Specific instructions included, but summary is: Two students are pitted against each other - one assigned "for", one "against". With no prep time, they must begin debating. They get a poker chip for each minute (up to 3) that they speak. If they stop talking for more than 10 seconds, they "time out" and the round advances. The debate topics are varied enough that this can be used with both upper intermediate (or mid) to advanced. And there are enough topics that you can do this fairly often with little fear of too much redundancy. I printed a set and laminated them to reduce my prep time, and now I have a pre-prepared go-to pack ready to go at a moment´s notice. Hope you find it as handy as I do.
