Grammar Auction
hi!
you´ll have to explain your students what is an auction is - a public sale where things are sold to the person who offers the largest sum of money.
they have a list of sentences, some of them correct, some of them are incorrect. Each student has 1000$, and they have to buy as many correct sentences as they can. the bids start at 50$, the next bid is 100$ and so on. they must keep a record on their sheets how much they have spent on each sentence, so that they could be aware of how much money they have left.
use such words like - how much am I given for this fantastic sentence, Going, going, gone to Mary for 200$, etc.
when you have sold all the sentences, go through them, eliciting if they´re correct or not. the winner is the person who bought the most correct sentences.
