Different approach to an exam (advanced level). Writing, vocabulary, grammar and culture
This exam for my 10th-formers is with a completely different approach compared to what most of you are used to. Where I live, we have to make up our exams differently. No longer closed questions (where only one answer is possible), but we have to evaluate the use of practical English in a context. This involves a lot of writing, but is actually more natural than having to fill out gaps with a particular tense or grammatical item, for instance, since students will never be confronted irl with the sentences you give them. However, they will be confronted with having to use these same grammatical items in a context of their own. There is no key for it, since the answers can vary. I hope you keep an open mind to this kind of evaluation.
