How Much is that? Store Game
This is a game where some students will be store owners, and the rest will be customers. The teacher will hand out the paper without prices to the students. The stores will receive the pages with the large items and will be given their store name and prices for their items. The customers all receive $50 to shop with, (I had them just right $50 on the back of their paper, and subtract the item`s price from their total) Their goal is to shop at different stores to find the best deal. (If they got all best prices they should have spent $45) If your class is smaller you can use any combination of 3 stores to still get under $50 If your class is big have 2 store owners for each store. Customers will go to each store and ask "How much is that (pen, pencil case, etc.)?" When they find out the prices they can either say "I´ll take it!" or "Too much". When they do buy an item the store owner will mark their paper under their store collumn, lined up with the item they purchased in the corresponding row. I gave each store a store sign with a different color and small colored stickers that matched their store color to mark the customers papers. But you can just give each store a different color marker, or stamp if you want. Winners will have purchased all items, and still have money left over.
