I made this short comic about baking a cake on a site called storyboardthat. I used the comic as a starter activity for a lesson on writing process paragraphs, but it could be utilised in other ways. This is how I used it: I printed different copies on different coloured paper, cut up the pieces and laminated them. I gave a piece to each student and they had to organise themselves into groups and put the sections in order. Then they had to write a paragraph using connectors. I then elicited the connectors, and moved on to teaching the more complex language that the lesson then focussed on.
