Pilgrim Fathers / Cromwell
This video of the beginning of the film Crowell can be used to give some depth and life to the Pilgrim Fathers topic. The video shows why a wealthy Pilgrim wants to leave England, it adds some life & complexity and pupils must use their ability to infer meaning. The worksheet shows how the present perfect is used effectively in the clip. This can be used as springboard to study the English Civil War / religious divide as a consequence of Henry viii, Luther, printing.
