Present Simple Questions Practice (Information gap)
This is a good oral practice to reinforce questions in present simple, both with do and does. Students get into pairs and are handed in a different version of the activity (Student A, Student B). They will have to complete a table by asking several questions to their partners BUT they CAN´T SEE each other´s worksheet. The questions they must ask are:
- How old...?
- Where do/does ... live?
- What do/does ... do?
- What time do/does ... start work?
- What time do/does ... finish work?
- How do/does ... get to work?
- Do/does ... like ... work?
It must be noted that there are visual aids for the questions they should ask in each column (i.e. different icons which represent the previous questions). However, I suggest you to revisit the aforementioned questions before getting into the activity.
N.B.: The last row in their tables is for the students to ask each other the same questions (if they are too young to work, the questions can be about their school).
Activity variations: 1) As there are many questions and different people to ask about, the last row could be deleted, shortening the activity length. 2) If you want students to practice only wh- questions, you could change the question for the last column to "Why do/does ... like ... job?".
