SNARE OF ECUMENISM
"Snare of Ecumenism" is an abbreviated text of a book review of the same title of a Society of Pius X priest (not in a communion with the Catholic Church, yet associated with her) on the issue of ecumenism. As a warm-up, I prepared a rebus. Ss have to guess the lesson topic on the basis of teh pictures (http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=897112#thetop) Then they skim the text and match the heading to the corresponding paragraphs. Then they scan it and paraphrase the main ideas of each of the paragraphs and write them down on a graphic organizer (a hand). As a summary, they are inviolved in a speaking activity: a debate on ecumenism. As for activity 3, you might use role cards for each of the representatives of Christian denominations. It might be fruitful to show them 3 different videos on youtube concerning the confessions at the beginning of the class.
