Student introductions Student introductions

Good way for new classes to get to know each other and for teacher to gauge level of English. Students work in pairs and find out about each other then introduce their classmate to the rest of the class. I use this with my undergrad and postgrad students and find it to be a good icebreaker. I normally do this in lesson 2 as I introduce myself in lesson 1 using a similar method. They know me so now I get to know them, and they each other. I also explain what I call the 3Cs of public speaking; Confidence, coherence, and clarity. So far so good!
