The Match Game
This is a teacher´s script based on the popular 70´s game show the Match Game.
I do it a little different than the classic, as it is better for the classroom. What I do is I just split the class into two teams, and they choose one person to be their ´matcher´. You then read one of the sentences aloud, saying ´blank´ where there is a blank. Then, the students all have to write the word that comes to mind on a slip of paper. The matcher from each team then reveals their word. Then, each teammate reveals their word, one at a time. For each matched word, the team gets a point. The matcher can get switched around every couple of turns, depending on how big your class is.
Of course, you can play the game any way you like, depending on your class size or your own ideas! I´d say it´s a great game for anyone who loved the Match Game, and you could even show your students a clip of the old game show before they play it themselves. Hope you have fun with this!
