"I just sued the school system"

I use this to start a year with my smart junior-high and high school students. First we discuss the pictures and relate them to our life in general and then to the educational system. Students DO have what to say on the issue. :) Then I show them the video WITHOUT a text and without subtitles. Then they get a paper (one per table) to complete it during the second (and third if needed) listening. And finally we discuss it again. It usually takes 3 lessons because it always goes where you dont expect it to go. Then I always stress the fact that critisizing without giving some ideas how to change situation to the better is useless. Thatīs why as a homework I give them two essay options, which we dicuss the following lesson: 1) I want to defend the school system. 2) I know how to improve the school system.
