Speaking Activity - Because
This is a speaking activity I implemented in my 2nd Grade Junior High School class here in Japan. The goal of the activity is very simple. Students need to interview their classmates (4) and complete the sentences in the worksheet based on their classmates´ answers. The main topic is the use of the subordinating conjunction, because. Students will provide reasons as to why they like the specific season of the year. This activity received good feedback from the students. They really enjoyed it. They were also challenged in completing the sentences due to their limited vocabulary but they all tried and were successful. This is a good activity in getting our ESL/EFL learners to speak.
